Was this a winter kill or was there any evidence of bigger animals around that might have killed it? Coyotes kill them whenever they can. They're remarkable lightweight, even fragile little fellows but vicious killers in their own little world.
I'm not really sure how the little guy died. There are Coyotes in the area but he didn't look like he had been attacked. My mom had spoted him in the back yard on Valentines day, he was laying out in the back yard. When he got up there was a little blood left in the snow and he was limping. Sad to say the least.
